Hi, I’m K8 (Kate) Baldus! Thanks for visiting my website.
I’m a writer and learning experience designer with over 15 years of experience creating impactful content and transformative learning experiences for adults and teens. I have worked in-house at the Bank Street College of Education, iMentor, CUNY LaGuardia, the NY Writers Coalition, NYU and the Pratt Institute. Additionally, I have collaborated with leading educational publishers such as Education Britannica, McGraw-Hill, and Pearson Education.
My career focus has been on empowering individuals to unlock their potential, whether in professional roles, volunteer positions, or academic settings. As a values-driven professional, I am deeply committed to inclusive leadership and design, grounding my work in stakeholder input. I am passionate about listening to diverse perspectives and fostering environments where all voices are heard.
I graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magna cum Laude with a BA in History from the University of Pennsylvania. I have an MA in English with a Concentration in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) from San Francisco State University and an MFA in Creative Writing from Goddard College.
I am also passionate about volunteering. I have been a volunteer mentor with Upwardly Global, supporting immigrant job seekers to find a career in the US. I was a creative writing workshop leader with the NY Writers Coalition, leading a writing workshop for adults at the Ditmas Park branch of the Brooklyn Public Library. And I led creative writing workshops at the Bedford Hills Correctional facility, supporting incarcerated women to find their voices.
In my free time, I like to read, walk, and travel.
